The club will be sponsoring an international exchange student this fall. A Newport family’s daughter is participating in the program and her family will take the student for the first three months. If anyone is interested in hosting the student for the second or third three month period talk to President Ginny. We don not know where the student will be from at the moment; stay tuned for more information.

The Polo committee is meeting every two weeks alternating between the Atlantic Grill and the Newport Public Library. The next meeting will be Feb 9 at 7:30 AM at the Atlantic Grill. The following meeting will be on Feb 23 at 5:00 PM at the Library. New members are very welcome. Invoices were passed out ads that have not been paid as yet. Prices for this year will not be increased. Ad order forms will be available next week at the meeting.

Terry Fitch gave a very good and complete explanation of the Rotary Foundation, Paul Harris Fellows, the Newport Rotary Charitable Foundation (“The Trust”), and the MacLeod Society. All members of Newport Rotary are encouraged to contribute something to the Rotary Foundation each year. When you reach a total contribution of $500, the club will contribute $500 in your name and you will become a Paul Harris Fellow.
