Where do our dues go?
Editor: Kathleen Warren

For newcomers and longtime members:  Ever wondered what happens to the $30/ quarter you pay on your Pullman Rotary bills?

Here is the Rotary truth:

We take in $120 per year in dues from every active member.

From that, we pay:

  • To Rotary District 5080, annually:  $28.25 in dues per year/ member, plus $156.25/yr. for D&O (Directors and Officers) insurance.
  • To Rotary International, semi-annually:  $23.50 in dues/member + $6.00 for the Rotarian magazine + $3.45 for liability insurance + $1:00 for council on legislation = 33.95 semiannually/ per member
  • To Rotary International: About $40 annually for Rotarian subscriptions for honorary members and for the WSU Library.

Therefore we pay out $28.50 + $33.95+ $33.95 = 96.40 $ per member +  about 40 dollars for Rotarian magazines to honorary members  and the WSU, Library.  The difference between that and your full $120 charge is considered Pullman Rotary dues.
