Click to view image in actual size At Tuesday, December 7th's Putnam Rotary Club meeting, we had the honor to hear from two local veterans discuss their efforts to build a facility for homeless veterans of Eastern Connecticut (photo from the Norwich Bulletin). The LaFlamme-Kusek American Legion Post #15 is proposing to restore and reuse its existing building in Jewett City into 18 permanent supportive housing units. These apartments are the first of their kind in a rural setting.
The Home at Last Capital Campaign's goal is to raise $760,000 to complete this project. Donations can be made to the TALVHI Project c/o American Legion Post #15, 7 South Main Street, Jewett City, CT 06351. More information is available on their website, al-veteranshousing.org.
