As I updated the Club yesterday, between members donations and our Club
donation, we have raised over $3,000 which translates to 3 shelterboxes will be
on their way to Haiti. With the Federal Governments matching program another 3
boxes will go, meaning our Club and Members are responsible with providing 6
boxes in total! Thanks to all who have supported this program to date!
As this initiative is to assist with immediate relief, I will take donations
until Friday, so for those who may still be interested, please let me know by
return email and I will be happy to have it added to your next quarterly
invoice and will also ensure you receive a reciept from Shelterbox Canada.
Thanks again to all those who have generously supported this project, you
are making a difference in peoples live's.

Rotary International, Gates Foundation, United Kingdom, and Germany
pledge critically needed funds and urge donor and endemic country
governments to help end crippling childhood disease
San Diego, Calif., U.S.A (Jan. 21, 2009)
-- Rotary International, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and
the British and German governments today committed more than $630
million in new funds to fight polio, a crippling and sometimes fatal
disease that still paralyzes children in parts of Africa and Asia and
threatens children everywhere. In addition to pledging needed funds,
leaders urged additional donors and leaders of countries where polio
still exists to join them in aggressive push for eradication.
Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
