Yellowknife Rotary lost a good friend on 29 Nov. Among the fatalities in the crash of a Seair Seaplanes de Havilland Beaver in Lyall Harbour was Dr. Kerry Telford and her infant daughter, Sarah. Dr. Telford started her practice in Yellowknife. In 1999, our Club sent her to Brazil for a Group Study Exchange Program. Kerry was a truly kind, compassionate woman, given to community and global service. Our condolences to her husband, Patrick Morrissey, and daughter Claire (age 2 1/2).

Most of us lead lives of abundance. So do the people on our Xmas list. Yellowknife Rotary now offers us an opportunity to do something meaningful this holiday season. Instead of another unneeded gift, or more sweets to eat ... give people on your guest list a card from our Club, confirming that you made a donation that bought a wheelchair for someone who can't afford one. Bring your chequebook on Thursday!
