Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self" took on a new meaning when Lisa Witheft, mother of our 2007-08 outbound youth exchange student to Brazil and a fabulous volunteer for our very successful Wine & Cheese Silent Auction this year, put her own life and safety on the line.
On October 2, 2008 the Rotary Club of Kankakee presented Lisa with a Service Above Self award by President Susan LaMore and a Paul Harris Fellowship by Foundation Chair Tom Cunnington.
