The Rotary Foundation - annual report 2007 - 2008 is available online and in print I have a copy. In one of our previous meetings a Rotarian asked whether or not the world financial crisis has impacted on the Foundation. I have copied a letter from the foundation chairman Jonathon B. American Archaeologists and Anthropologists are working at a TAINO site in Bluefields Jamaica to catalog and preserve Taino relics from the 1500s.
PAG Eric I met with them on Monday evening . Several other community members were present at the meeting and Mr. Wolde Kristos from the BPCA (Bluefields Peoples Community Association) is spearheading a steering committee to find interested community leaders in forming a Bluefields Heritage group. For the past 8 years Dr Dwight Mcleod and his team of Volunteers have been visiting Jamaica every July to provide Dental Care and Educations to the Communities of Kew Park and Flankers. His team of Volunteers have included Dentists, Doctors, Dental Hygienists, Dental Students, Pharmacists and friends. This years team was over 60 volunteers and every year his team gets bigger as more people sign up for the experience and the opportunity to serve. I am honoured to have been a part of the original team of Rotarians who first assisted Dr Mcleod in 2000 and have continued to help facilitate our clubs ongoing commitment to assisting Dr Mcleod's efforts at the Kew Park Community. Attached is copy of the thank you letter Dr Mcleod sent to our club.
