On Thursday, April 8th, the Interact Club of Chesterton High School and anyone who wishes to participate will walk to Dogwood Park and back – barefoot.

On Thursday, April 8th, the Interact Club of Chesterton High School will sponsor a walk in conjunction with participants across the U.S. for the "One Day Without Shoes Movement." Beginning at 2:20pm from the C.H.S. parking lot, the Interact students and anyone who wishes to participate will walk to Dogwood Park and back – barefoot.

According to Interact Club member and Walk Coordinator, Giuliana Ruiz-Moreno, "the club's goal is to raise awareness of the impact of living without shoes and also to promote Tom's Shoes as a way to help. For every pair of shoes purchased from Tom Shoes, a pair will be donated to a child in need."

Anyone wishing to participate in the Walk may do so wearing shoes as well. Contributions, in lieu of walking, can be made by contacting Giuliana Ruiz-Moreno at 219-331-4426 or by dropping a donation off at the CHS Main Office.
