Welcoming Two New Members ~ SARAH FLOURNOY and ARTURO ROMERO
We're delighted to welcome two new members to our ranks - Sarah Flournoy, Executive Director of Bellaire's Nature Discovery Center, and Arturo Romero, Director of The Growing Tree Academy on Palmetto. Sarah took over the helm of the Discovery Center in January and holds a B.A. in Religion from Washington & Lee, with an M.A. in English from Middlebury College. She began her career in education at the Austin Children's Museum, and in recent years has chaired the English Department at neighboring Episcopal High School. A native Houstonian, Sarah serves on the Board of Directors of the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center. Arturo has been Director of a day care learning facility,The Growing Tree Academy on Palmetto, for the past five years, and he and his wife Trudy have lived in Houston for more than 40 years. Make a special effort to get to know both our new members better at coming luncheons!
