Tuesday, September 22nd, found 21 Boardman Rotarians standing in the parking lot of Mill Creek Park Golf Course hoping that the rain would hold off long enough so that we could get some golf in.

Our wishes and prayers were answered. Except for a brief sprinkle during the early holes, the weather ended up being very pleasant.
Joe Ignazio chaired this year's event along with Joe Thomas. The day started with a gathering around the trunk of Joe's car for the golfers to receive hats (thanks Jim Hammond), golf balls (thanks Joe Thomas), YSU coolers (thanks Shannon Tirone) and a certificate for a free Chic-fil-a sandwich (thanks Shelly Laberto). The golfers then headed to the course for 4 1/2 hours of fun and fellowship. This year's winners were:
Winning Team - 6 Under Par
Tony Daprile
Brett Rizzo
Fred Soller
Jim Grantz
Joe Ignazio
Skill Prizes
Longest Drive #4 - John Yerian
Closest to the pin #5 - Dick Dowell
Longest Putt #11 - Jay Summer
Closest to the pin #13 - Doug Thorpe
Closest to the pin, second shot #16 - Jack Calabrese
After golf the group gathered, along with many non-golfing Rotarians, at the Stitt Pavilion for dinner and the presentation of the awards. Nina Hanna and Celeste Lisko prepared and served a wonderful meal of lasagna and sausage along with a salad and bread. Everyone had a great time recounting shots both made and missed.
President Bob briefly addressed the group and thanked Joe Ignazio for all of his hard work on the event. Joe presented the awards to the winners and thanked those who donated gifts, Celeste and Nina for the wonderful meal and Tony Daprile and Linda Bevacqua for their help before and during the event.
