Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce
Editor: Terri Dexheimer

Click to view image in actual size Chamber President Scott Star and Rotarian Steve Gilmore who is also the Chamber Executive spoke today about the new vision and mission statement that has been developed for the Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce. They have identified 3 specific areas of importance for the community: 1)Transportation, 2) Economical Development, 3) Enhanced business opportunities.

Working hard for the 300 members of their association Steve and Scott have applied themselves and created early morning events, engaging luncheons, evening member events and networking events. They manage many Committees from the Ambassadors, (the welcome committee) to a Governmental Affairs Committee, about 7 or 8 in all. Doing this has helped them maintain a constant membership base, in this difficult economical time that is a real accomplishment. p>Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce prints 13,500 chamber directories, along with area maps and monthly newsletters. They keep information racks at several locations scattered though out the city filled with these pieces, along with other valuable tourism or re-location information.

The chamber takes the tourism dollars generated by the county lodge taxes and they reinvest them back into the community, sponsoring or co-sponsoring events like, movies in the park, Wilsonville Fun Run and the Rotary's own Summer Concert Series.

Wilsonville is very fortunate to have such an active Chamber of Commerce. The leadership skills of Scott and Steve have really made the difference in the success of The Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce.
