The Kule Klub performed two shows at the sold-out Carpinteria Rotary Talent Show held at the Plaza Playhouse Theater on Saturday, February 18. The variety show, emceed by John Palmenteri, featured 26 acts including singers and singing groups, dancers, a magician and a comedian. The highlight of the evening, and the performance that ROCKED THE HOUSE, was of the Kule Klub! The group’s seven members, Gary Jensen, David Velarde, Graham Guess, Kathleen Blake, Burt Chortkoff, Bill Abel and Scott Johnson, performed “Jump The Line, Shake Sonora” and boy, was there some shaking going on! One of the Kule Klub members (only those who were there know which one) shook his behind for the screaming crowd. Not even the magician juggling a bowling ball, machete and a flaming torch got a more lively applause than the Kule Klub. After this successful showing, the group is entertaining opportunities for other shows so stay tuned for upcoming tour dates.
