The Blood Alliance - a non profit organization - was iniated in 1942 in Jacksonville, FL. The organization moved into the Savannah / Beaufort / Bluffton / HHI in 2001 as the other suppliers in the area were not able to keep up with the demand. The Blood Alliance works with Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Coastal Carolina Hospital and Hilton Head Regional.
Sixty percent of the population is able to give blood and only about 5% donate. If you know of a patient who is in need of on-going transfussions, etc. you can donate blood in their name.
