Our 30th Anniversary Party was so much fun, I'm compelled to write something about it. The theme was the '70's, and most of the 70+ people attending dressed the part.  With all the wigs, mustaches, boots, tattoos (some real), peace necklaces, and special outfits, it looked pretty much like a convention of hippies...or a Halloween party.  The Captain and Tenille (Eileen and Terry Prillaman) were great.  Art Warren and Kim Martin shared honors for the most hair.  Joni Utnage's red hair had us guessing for a while who she was.  Somehow Isak Griffiths looked the hippiest of all. I wore a Chicago Bears football jersey with the number 34 on it, but I'm not sure people knew that was Walter Payton's number when he was such a great player in the '70's. 

The party was supposed to be at Lava, but we had to pick another spot pretty much at the last minute.  Fortunately the downstairs bar of the Round Barn was available, and that probably turned out to be a better place because it was more intimate.  The music was great, and Barb Burch and Christie Martin soon got the group into a dancing "frenzy."  Jo and I haven't danced for a long time, but after three beers the juices began to flow again, and I couldn't resist trying to relive my youth.

Eric did another excellent job as M.C.  The trivia contest was won by Terry Prillaman, with Mike Hirschi taking second.  Third place was confusing.

The video was terrific--once they got it working!  Eric had to put in a frantic call to Chris Kirby to leave his home and come to our rescue.  Anita says she'd like to have more pictures showing our club's activities over the years.  It would also be great if she would add some pictures from the party.  She plans to add music to it and burn it to a disc.  What fun it will be to see that at one of our meetings--and maybe get some copies.
