Hearty thanks to Jamie for his wonderful leadership this year!

The assembly rose to their feet and applauded as President, Joe Kelley, bestowed a beautiful sapphire pin to BART NUBOER, who has now received The Paul Harris Award numerous times. We are indebted to Bart for his devotion and service to Scituate Rotary International.
Our speaker for the evening was Hilary Collins, recipient of The Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to India. Hilary began her presentation by gifting us with about six flags from Rotary Clubs to which she has spoken, from Carlisle, PA, USA, to Bombay/Mumbai, India. Sergeant at Arms, Walter Heller, will display the flags for us. Hillary gave each of us a blog she had written, Mumbai Musings. One would never have suspected that a failed power point had been part of Hilary's plan for the evening. With grace and poise, she engaged us, and spoke fluently and articulately about her year spent studying and learning in India. She spoke of India as a land of contradictions and comparisons where slums, for example, are next to a palace, and 30,000 people per kilometer in Mumbai compare to 2,000 people per kilometer in New York City. People in the city of Mumbai also share space with strolling animals such as cows and monkeys. We applaud this young woman for her ability to be flexible and adjust to a totally foreign culture and environment. Thank you, Hilary, for sharing your experiences and insights with us. We wish you well in all your endeavors.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15.
Respectfully submitted,
Lois Brandes
