Rev. Dr. Mikal Featchurs age 59 of Monroe was called home on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Although his earthly ministry has ended, Mikal's works will continue to be shining beacons for our Heavenly Father.
Mikal Featchurs was born in Hennings, Tennessee on May 17, 1951. He was one of six children born to the late Edward Featchurs and the late Eliza (McDaniel) Featchurs. Mikal was a 1969 graduate of Toledo Woodward High School. He married the love of his life, the former Gwendolyn Wright in Toledo, Ohio on January 9, 1971.
Mikal began a lifetime of ministry as a youth pastor while still in his teens. He attended Detroit Urban Bible College and obtained a Doctor of Divinity. As a loving family man, Mikal never met a stranger. He led others by his hard work, dedication, and unwavering spirit. He loved all people and was well known throughout southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio as a Gospel Talk Show Host and D.J.
Mikal was a church planter and pastor. Ministry was his lifestyle and Gospel music was his livelihood. While living in Monroe he had served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and was a proud member of Rotary.
