First Ever ClubRunner Award Presented at District 5370 Conference
District 5370 of Alberta, Canada has just awarded its first ever "ClubRunner Award" to the Rotary Club of Edmonton Mayfield,
one of its 57 clubs, at the recent District Conference on May 20, 2006.
Named the "Hans Granholm" award in recognition of the District Communication Chair's long term championing efforts
throughout the District and beyond, the award seeks to recognize progressive clubs in the pursuit of a club administration
tool, the best utilization of web site and communications.
This honor is awarded to the club that demonstrates the best use of a website, e-Bulletin, and use of the email system for
club communication, demonstrating a creative and progressive Internet presence.
"ClubRunner has had a major role in the furtherance of efficient and effective club and district communications
management," said Hans Granholm during his presentation speech. He went on to thank District Governor Elly Contreras,
District Awards Chair Sharon Cornelius and the Awards Evaluating Committee for the time taken to pour over the nearly fifty club
web sites in the District.
Club websites were viewed and evaluated once in every 6 month period of the Rotary year by a panel appointed by the
District Awards Committee.
The panel looked for general appeal; vitality and age of items
Use of pictures and images in stories and news items
Efficient use of Site Pages and Club Links
Implementation and use of the Event Manager (ClubRunner)
Utilization of the upcoming Speakers List
Use of electronic newsletter (e-Bulletin)
Utilization of Forum (public part only) (ClubRunner)
Use of site sponsorship on the club site
