About our
Community
Washago
is nestled at the north shore of
Lake Couchiching where the Severn River (commonly known as The Green
River) and Black River come together
on their journey to Georgian Bay. It is a little known fact that Washago is
actually an island. Our service area includes the communities of Cumberland
Beach,
Severn Bridge, Coopers Falls, Floral Park, Longford Mills, and Sparrow Lake.
Washago is also one of the few communities where you can catch a
train either going north to Timmins or south to Toronto. In fact you can
even take the train from
Washago to Vancouver.
Also you can go anywhere in the world by boat from
Washago as we are conveniently located on the
Trent Severn
Waterway at
Lock 42 which
takes boaters to Georgian Bay to the north and to Lake Ontario to the south.
