| Posted by Chris Nesbitt The Water School Update - Bob Dell
Bob is a scientist with over 40 years experience in water treatment technology in Canada. He founded Dell Tech Laboratories (and is its current Chair), a chemical regulatory compliance company, before deciding to focus on providing clean water solutions to the developing world. Bob conducted extensive research on appropriate water treatment technologies relevant to the African context when he came across the SODIS water purification system, as developed by Eawag in Switzerland. Through field experimentation in Uganda, Bob was able to refine this system by minimizing its steps and making it more practical and user friendly. Eawag has since accepted these changes as vital and applicable. In this link to Bob's presentation, Bob reviews the on going progress of the water school. | | Posted by Chris Nesbitt Anna von Holtzendoff a student at Medway High School and Anne Stokes a student at South Collegiate Institute attending this Friday's meeting. The goal of The Dictionary Project is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary. The dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at school and at home for years to come. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn, so we encourage our sponsors to give dictionaries each year to children in the third grade. Adtional information about our clubs involvement is availible in this video The Dictionary Project by Brian Crombeen .
