| WELCOME TO THE ROTARY CLUB OF ST. JOHN’S NORTHWEST Our Rotary Club was chartered in 1965 and for nearly fifty years the women and men of Northwest Rotary have dedicated themselves to helping our community. As one of over 33,000 Rotary Clubs in the world, Northwest Rotary strives to live by the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”. Our club prides itself in supporting many community projects for youth, our adopted school, seniors, housing initiatives, annual food drive, among other local and international projects detailed herein. Northwest Rotarians show up and we involve ourselves in hands-on community projects. We are able to carry out these projects because of our two annual and highly successful fund raising events. We invite the public and especially other Rotarians to join us for our regular weekly meetings. We meet each Tuesday at 12:15 for 12:30 pm at the Holiday Inn on Portugal Cove Road in St. John’s. You will receive a warm welcome and you will enjoy our spirited meetings, as well as our interesting weekly speakers.
We also have a good time doing what we do best! If you are not familiar with Rotary and if you are interested in giving back to your community as part of a dynamic organization, why not come to our meetings and “try us out”?
Yours in Rotary Carman V. Carroll President, 2011-2012 | | Posted on May 10, 2012 The Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest always considers it a privilege to be able to help worthwhile causes throughout our area. One of our latest projects had a touching moment for us this past week when we presented a cheque for $22,500 to Easter Seals, for 10 new Wheelchairs for the Easter Seals Youth Wheelchair Basketball Program.
After the presentation we were delighted to watch some of the young people play a gave of basketball in the new chairs that were paid for by that cheque. | | Posted on Apr 25, 2012 Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest Gala Dinner and Auction raises $123,445 for this small, unique charity TORONTO, ON (April 25, 2012) -- On Saturday, March 17th, the Rotary Club of St. John's Northwest produced another outstanding Gala Dinner and Auction, raising over $246,891 in total for their charity beneficiary, Hope Air, and for their own local community programs.
