We will hear from Vanta Coda; Executive Director, Duluth Seaway Port Authority.  Vanta became executive director of the Duluth Seaway Port Authority on Oct. 1, 2013. He has over 20 years of experience in multi-modal transportation and logistics including marketing and sales, pricing and financial analysis. He has worked with customers across multiple commodity groups including coal, aggregate, chemicals, petroleum, steel, wind generation and heavy-lift products - moving product via inland waterways and oceans, as well as by rail and truck across North America. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Coda began his career in Chicago in 1993 with the Illinois Central Railroad, becoming Director of Marketing and Sales following its merger with the CN Railway. Having played a key role in CN's strategic planning for chemical transport, he was hired by the Westlake Group of Companies in 2000 to manage logistics for its vinyls subsidiary. Five years later, he became Director of Regional Sales in the Gulf for American Commercial Lines after which he served as Director of Fuel Transportation for Dynegy Inc. in Houston, Texas. Most recently, Coda was Director of Global Logistics for Nabors Industries in Houston.

It's not too late - sign up now for the Hermans Golf Classic!  The date is next Monday, July 21 and the fun begins at 1:00 pm at Ridgeview Country Club.  Come for golf, or if Monday is too busy for you, just come for dinner and fellowship!.  The registration form can be found in the 'Download' section of our homepage or click here:http://www.clubrunner.ca/Data/5580/1308/HTML/200756//HermansGolfClassic.pdf, or of course you can always ask 'Mr Hermans Golf' himself, Scott Fisher, if you have any questions.

As always, we had a wonderful year with our Junior Rotarians.  Each week they did a fabulous job of welcoming us and truly being a part of our meeting.  It is always a treat to have them all back at the end of their year to run the whole show and remind us how impessive these youth are!  Good luck to all the Harbortown Junior Rotarians!
