This online version of the Rotary Basics provides a handy reference guide to the basics of Rotary International's organization and also how clubs are expected to operate. If you are new to Rotary and Club 40, this is a must-read for your orientation. If you are a Rotary veteran, poke around and see what you can re-learn.

Every week the same cast of characters put on performances at our meetings.

Ever wonder if there are any scripts for those folks. There are and now you can see if one of them might be a fit for you.
1.Greeter (Club service time – 35 minutes in advance of meeting) It's a good feeling to start our weekly Club meeting with a handshake and a friendly welcome! When you are greeter, please arrive at the luncheon by 11:30 am. Wear the Greeter badge found in the badge box. Greet your fellow Club members, guests, students and visiting Rotarians and SMILE! At 12:05 pm feel free to replace your badge and proceed through the buffet line.

2. Invocation Presenter (Club service time – 15-30 minutes in advance of meeting) Every week our Club gives thanks for world peace and draws inspiration from the joys of the season and opportunities for Service Above Self. When you agree to prepare and present a one minute invocation, please find a pre-written message or create one yourself. It is important to remember that messages should be non-political and respectful of the beliefs and faiths of others.

3. Fellowship Presenter (Club service time – 15-30 minutes in advance of meeting) Good-natured fun is a highlight of Club meetings, and our weekly fellowship time is an opportunity to recognize the milestones and accomplishments of our individual members, their families and their organizations. We recommend that you plan your presentation well in advance and provide a chance for as many members as possible to be "fined" or just plain contribute their $2 limit of Happy Dollars to help fund Club projects.

4. Program Introducer (Club service time – 15-30 minutes in advance of meeting) Weekly programs are a key benefit of Club membership because topics keep us informed as leaders in our community. Presentations are about timely happenings or related to Rotary's Four Avenues of Service (International, Vocational, Community and Club Service). When you introduce the program, please tell us (in one minute) the speaker's name, organization and brief background, as well as how the topic relates to Rotary.

5. Take Five Presenter (5-10 minutes in advance, 5 minutes during the meeting) Getting to know our friends in Rotary is a lot easier when we hear what other members are willing to tell us about themselves. Take Five presentations are great for introducing new members at Club meetings, but it's also a good way for newer members to learn something about those who have been in the Club a bit longer. When you present your Take Five (as a volunteer or when asked) please tell us

6. Musician We are looking for an additional pianist for this role. We have several musicians in our Club whose talent at the piano helps us sing our Official Club Greeting to visitors and Happy Birthday to members at each weekly meeting. This makes us unique among clubs in the area! The dedication of Janet Jennings and Harvey Hoven is greatly appreciated, so please express your thanks to them for sharing their special talents in service to the club.

Thanks to those who have contributed items for inclusion in the bulletin. If you have a story you want in the Net News.40, Please email it to Erin Makela or Allen Raffetto.
