The 2nd Annual Bow Rotary Car Show is in the history book.
We had a great turn out from spectators, cars on display, vendors, children and Bow Rotary club members.

The unofficial and yet to be audited numbers look like:

89 registered vehicles, up from 15 last year!
260 paid spectators
Sun, fun, social value, community goodwill - Priceless.

A SPECIAL thank you to those of you that showed up and the many who stayed well beyond your commitment, without everyone this event would not have been the success it was.

Bow Rotary Scholarship Applications Will Be Available on March 20, 2012

BOW, NH - Applications will be available for the Bow Rotary Club’s 2012 scholarships starting Tuesday, March 20, 2012.  These applications will be available at Bow High School, the Baker Free Library and on the Club’s website, www.bowrotary.org.

With the generous support of area businesses and residents, the Bow Rotary Club was able to offer over $14,000 in scholarships to students for the 2010-2011 school year.  Each November, the scholarship money is raised at the annual Bow Rotary Auction Gala.  This year’s scholarship amount is yet to be determined.

Residents of Bow, NH that are graduating high school seniors, students enrolled in two-year and four-year college programs, and adults enrolled in continuing educational programs are encouraged to apply.  Criteria used in selecting scholarship winners include academic excellence, demonstrated service to the community, participation in extracurricular programs, and financial need.  Grants will also be awarded to individuals in camps and educational programs.

All applications are due by May 4, 2012.  Recipients will be announced later in the spring at the Bow High School Senior Awards Night and Bow Rotary Recognition Night.

For information call Jerry Kingwill at (603) 491-3783 or visit www.bowrotary.org

The Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) program allows high school-aged students from more than 200 countries with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience at life in these United States through a one-year exchange program.

The experience and perspective of living outside of your home country is life changing. The experience of living with a young person from another country can also change your family’s life.

The Bow Rotary Club and Bow High School would like to be part of the Youth Exchange Program again, and we need your help!  We are seeking families who would consider making their home the home for an exchange student and allowing this student to be part of your family. The commitment is big, and so are the rewards.

Interested in learning more? Email: BowYouthExchange@yahoo.com or contact Sharon Eng at 225-3657 for more details.

Cadet Nicholas Normandin of Bow has been selected as the 2012-2013 Ambassadorial Scholar for Rotary District 7870 and will be leaving this fall (2012) for the University of Edinburgh. The West Point junior was chosen in a very competitive process from a pool of highly qualified candidates from across the district, which includes most of southern and central New Hampshire as well as southern Vermont. He was sponsored in this endeavor by the Rotary Club of Bow. Rick Minard, the Club’s current Vice President, will be mentoring Nick during his scholarship and said ‘We are very pleased to have successfully sponsored Nick Normandin’s candidacy, and we really look forward to sharing his experience’.  Mr. Minard was himself a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in Wales a number of years ago.
