During their year as a Rotary International Youth Exchange Student, our 2012/2013 Outbounds will have once in a lifetime opportunities to join others in conferences, tours, and other fabulous events that will create life-long memories. The costs for these activities are over and above their basic expenses as an exchange student . . . which is where we need your help!
On Tuesday April 17th, courtesy of Hanna Bistro owner, Karen Simpson, and her chef Shana, we have the opportunity to experience the cuisine of the five host countries for the 2012/2013 Traverse City Rotary Youth Exchange Students. This is the second annual event and, if it's anything like last years, it will be FABULOUS!
A five-course dinner will feature selections from Brazil, France, Italy, Thailand and Turkey. The students will be personally responsible for prepping the restaurant, serving, and cleaning up after the event. Seating is limited to 72 participants. Cost is $60 (alcoholic beverages are purchased separately). Reservations should be made directly with Hanna Bistro at 231-946-8207.

Sunrise Rotarians, by overwhelming majority, have pledged their support for a global service project to take place in Honduras starting spring, 2013. We are raising the funds to purchase biosand water filters. Separately, through member "FUN"-draising, we'll create a pool of funds to help off-set travel expenses so our members, family and friends may participate, hands-on, in their installation.
As a first step in this process we are thrilled to announce the December 2011 award of a $3000 matching grant from Rotary Charities and a February 2012 award of a $6000 matching grant from Rotary International District 6290.
