On Saturday, April 28, Community Services Director Paul Bonaventure and 12 Folsom Rotarians gathered at Mount Olive Lutheran Church for Rotary at Work Day. Members constructed garden boxes at the church which will provide fresh produce for the Twin Lakes Food Bank located across the street from the church. The Rotary Club of Folsom has partnered with the Rotary Clubs of Candido Mota and Assis Norte in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil to deliver 192 low-cost hearing aids (HA) to impoverished hearing-impaired (HI) children. This project is made possible with a grant from The Rotary Foundation.

Fifty-one Business Leaders and fifty-three Folsom High School Junior Class students recently participated in the 17th Annual Youth Leadership Conference in Folsom. Started in 1993, the Rotary Club of Folsom and the Rotary Annes of Folsom have been the driving force behind this unique event along with coordination by Folsom High School and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce. During the month of January, the Rotary Club of Folsom, the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom, and the Rotary Club of Folsom Lake working together delivered 1,050 Macmillian Dictionaries for Children to third grade students attending the 10 Folsom Cordova Unified School District elementary schools in Folsom, St John Notre Dame School, and Phoenix School. The three clubs raised the $10,290 for the dictionaries through several fundraisers during the past year. | | Posted by Frank Woods
