Founded in 1905, Rotary isa worldwide service organization, with over 1.2 million members and over 34,000clubs. ThePortage Rotary Club has 94 members, with 4 applications pending. We will be celebrating our 45thanniversary on March 20th, 2012. Rotary’s motto is Service Above Self. The foundation of clubactivity centers around 5 Avenues of Service: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service, International Service, and New Generations.

ThePortage Rotary Club will once again offer scholarship opportunities to studentswho are graduating in 2012 and pursuing higher education at a college oruniversity in the fall. Portage Rotarian Bill Crown is a craftsman. He has been fashioning wood creations for many years, including the attractive oak frames that display the banners presented to the club from around the world, the podium used weekly at meetings, and the Paul Harris plaque that showcases the club’s very giving members. Through these three masterful creations that symbolize his own enthusiasm, leadership, and club service, Bill has demonstrated that he is also a craftsman of Rotarians.
