What is the Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary? It’s people just like you who have concern for others—people who want to enhance their community through gifts of their time and money.

Here in the San Pedro Harbor/Palos Verdes Peninsula area, PVPR has provided tens of thousands of dollars for financial aid to students who may have otherwise missed an opportunity to attend college; honored our community teachers with our signature “Educator of the Year” event; and put smiles on children’s faces during the Christmas holiday season. Rotarians have served as a volunteer labor pool for such worthwhile projects as this Concours d’Elegance, the Harbor Area Boys and Girls Clubs, and Habitat for Humanity.

PVPR also reaches beyond the community to serve all peoples of the world. The foundation has donated gurneys to hospitals and clinics in Mexico, clean water to residents in India, and the gift of mobility by working with the Free Wheelchair Mission to provide wheelchairs in third-world countries.

We invite you to learn why PVP Rotary is the most trusted name in community service and discover how you can have fun while helping others.

ImageOn Wednesday (of course) the 18th, we had our 3rd Wednesday Night Live! substitute meeting. Once again it was a great time for all attendees, which included club members and their FREE guests. The bar was open and there was just a little bit of formality.  For the door prize, we had a step up in the quality of the wines, which provided for the opportunity to sell well beyond the normal allotment of tickets.

Our entertainment for the evening was Mr. Einstein Brown who plays a mean steel drum. His caribbean sound definately leant itself to the relaxed vibe of these special meetings.

If you missed it, be sure to come to our final Wednesday Night Live in April. You might just get a special welcome like, "LIVE FROM PALOS VERDES -- ITS WEDNESDAY NIGHT."   Well, on second thought, we'll just keep to the tradiational PVP Rotarian Smile greetings.

It’s a new year, a new theme, and a new president to give your full lack of attention and reserved respect—all of which was made clear at Friday’s Club Assembly. For the record, nearly all of what you heard coming from the gold- (and blue) digging floozies of the peanut gallery has no basis in fact, “but I don't want to say with certitude to you something that "I don’t know the certain truth.”
