This year, for the very first time, Snoqualmie ValleyRotary Club offered a free dinner to the public on Thanksgiving Day at the MtSi Senior Center.

We are very grateful to have the Mt Si Senior Centeravailable to make this offering.

There was an impressed outpouring of generosity andsupport from many volunteers.  Volunteerswere made up of local Rotarians, family and friends along with members of localchurches and businesses.

The Thanksgiving Day Dinner came together so well, youwould think we've been doing this for years.  I can't say enough about how great the volunteers workedtogether.

The food was delicious and everything looked great.  A special thank you to Judy Boyce and Chris Garcia fortheir expert guidance in the kitchen.

We didn't get quite the masses we were expecting but wecan learn from this year and discuss more of how to improve for thefuture.  Thanks to the help of somededicated volunteers, dinners were delivered to some homeless in North Bend andFall City.

Other food left over was given to the food bank and Mt SiSenior Center.

A great time was had by all and we hope to provide thisservice again in the future.

The Rotary Club of Snoqualmie Valley is excited to offer a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day November 24 at Mount Si Senior Center in North Bend. The dinner is complementary, and all are welcome. The Club has made sign-up sheets available at the Senior Center and the Mount Si Helping Hand Food Bank for those who plan on attending.

The Club is also looking for many volunteers to help with serving during one or more of the three shifts. The first shift is from 11:45 to 1:15, the second is from 1:15 to 2:45, and the third is from 2:45 to 4:00. You may also volunteer for the clean-up crew from 300 to 430. If you would like to volunteer then please click here to access the sign-up sheet. If you haven’t already created a Google account, you will need to do so.  It is easy and free.  If you have any problems accessing the sign-up sheet please call or email Jolene Kelly jolene.kelly@comcast.net  425-941-8795.

The Club is also looking for volunteers to prepare stuffing for the Thanksgiving Dinner. The following recipe must be followed:

Stuffing is to be prepared in a 12 3/4"X 9"X (no more than) 2" "Foil Utility Pan" (any brand)

2               6 oz bags seasoned dressing (bread cubes)

                              1               Cup Butter

                              1               Cup Celery, chopped

                              1               Cup Onion, chopped

                              1 1/2        Cups Broth

Saute butter with celery and onion until transparent.  Combine sauteed veggies with seasoned dressing. Stir liquid in gradually, blend lightly and spoon into greased pan. Bake covered 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Please deliver the stuffing to the Mount Si Senior Center at 11:15am, 12:45pm, and 2:15pm.

This is an amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in the Valley. Please strongly consider making this a priority over your Thanksgiving holiday. If you would like to know more, feel free to contact Jolene at the above listed email or phone number.

As we approach October, "Breast Cancer Awareness Month", let us also be aware October is "Rotary Vocational Service Month."
Vocational Service focuses on:

"Adherence to and promotion of the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including fair treatment of employers, employees, associates, competitors, and the public." How we do business is a direct reflection of how we represent Rotary. It is an honor to be part of such a respected club.

"The recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, not just those that are pursued by Rotarians." If you don't already, October is a great month to start the practice of thanking service providers around you. Everyone enjoys being noticed and recognized for a doing a great job. Brighten someone's day with a smile and a hand shake.
"The contribution of your vocational talents to solving the problems of society and meeting the needs of the community." With the vocational diversity of our club, we are plugged in. Look up and look out around you to see where we can make a difference. Be aware of how you are already making an impact. Due to our ability to network and raise awareness, we have raised major funds to give back to families in need, support further education for our youth, contribute to quality of life for Seniors, and more.

As you grow in your business and personal life here is some valuable advice. This is a great piece to hang next to the 4 -Way Test.

Thank you for your continued efforts in making our community a great place to live.
