Posted by Joyce Bosse on May 19, 2013 Despite a few raindrops, Carolyn and Mary organized a wonderful meal for people at the Congregational Church. Ham's provided by Carolyn and Frank Damour and Mary Krotzer were flanked by sides of macaroni and cheese, salad, coleslaw, meatballs and american chop suey, plus delicious 15 bean and Italian wedding soups. The dessert table overflowed with an assortment of cookies, cakes, brownies and rice crispy treats. It was great to see Jim McElroy and for him to take a plate home to Jan and we all received many "thank-you's" from both the people who came to eat and those from the Church who came to help. Once again the "Service Above Self" theme was evident!

Posted by Joyce Bosse on Apr 18, 2013 Henniker Fire Chief Keith Gilbert recently spoke to the Club about new patterns in residential fires because of new materials and the design of newer homes. We thank the Henniker Fire Department, as well as others in the area, for their dedication not only in fighting fires, but in trying to educate the public as well.

Posted by Joyce Bosse on Mar 07, 2013 Martha Taylor once again came to give us information about the Henniker Historical Society. Shown here is Joyce giving Martha a "Chilifest" t-shirt for their collection so we'll be immortalized with businesses who have also donated t-shirts.
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Feb 21, 2013 Joyce thanks Felice Bellman, Editor of the Concord Monitor, for speaking to the club. Felice gave a very interesting presentation "day in the life" of a newspaper editor and how many decisions must be considered before putting the final paper together.

Posted by Joyce Bosse on Jan 24, 2013 We were fortunate to have Concord Rotarian Glenn Currie speak to us about his most recent work, "Surviving Seventh Grade", a sequel to his book "A Boy's First Diary". Most of us (being around the same age) could relate to many things, including hiding under our desks as part of a drill in case of a nuclear attack, and later thinking that if that was the best we could do, then we were in trouble. Listening to Glenn was an enjoyable way to stay warm during a week of frigid temperatures.
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Jan 17, 2013 Kerry and Steve recently celebrated birthdays and treated us to their rendition of Happy Birthday!
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Jan 17, 2013 Amey Brook Park looks beautiful in her white winter coat. After the snowstorm tracks were evident showing that Amey Brook Park is used during all seasons.

Posted by Joyce Bosse on Jan 03, 2013 Long-time Henniker resident and NEC graduate Dave Currier braved the cold to tell us about his new brewery which is scheduled to begin distributing soon. Very interesting and we look forward to going on a brewery tour soon. (Dave seemed very happy to receive a "Chilifest" t-shirt!)

Posted by Daniel R. DaCosta on Dec 14, 2012 Thanks to Chairman Dan DaCosta, Christmas caroles were heard throughout Henniker on Friday, December 14th. Led in song by Ruth Zax, we all felt a little better for bringing some cheer to people around town and at Rush Square.
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Dec 13, 2012 Once again member and phenomenal auctioneer Carolyn Damour led the club to a record-breaking "internal" auction. Club members invited friends and relatives to attend, bring auction items and bid on those items. Our caterer Evelyn provided an wonderful breakfast for our special guests. Ruth kept track of the successful bidders while Lisa and Joyce helped Carolyn display the items. There's a photo album on the website which highlights some of the fun and please notice all the people smiling in the background. Thanks to everyone for such a wonderful event! Check out the Photo Album for more pictures.

Posted by Joyce Bosse on Nov 29, 2012 After many years the entrance to Amey Brook Park finally has a Rotary Wheel thanks in large part to Lisa Hustis, Joe Clement, Scott Diaz, Scott Osgood and Dan Dacosta. Job well done, it looks great and we can be proud.
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Nov 29, 2012 President Joyce congratulated Dick Edmund of Edmund's Hardware as the newest honorary member of the Henniker Club. Dick has been a long time supporter of the club and we're grateful for his assistance.
Posted on Nov 08, 2012 HDHS Teacher Heide Welch, NH's 2013 Teacher of the Year, spoke to the club about her road to where she is now and how she got there. It was interesting that she also did some research on Rotary and incorporated what she found into her speech and how we have so many similarities. After her speech she was given a standing ovation...something relatively rare for our club. We thank her for her presentation and wish her luck as her path takes her to the National competition.
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Oct 18, 2012 Henniker Rotarian Ruth Zax and her daughter Hollywood (FL) Rotarian Amy Guimond exchange flags from their respective clubs. It's good to see another generation of Rotarians and it was nice to see Amy at our meeting. Congratulations to both mother and daughter. (Also, we've all been invited to Florida during the winter--lol.)
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Oct 11, 2012 Pat St Lawrence of the Henniker Food Pantry attended our weekly meeting to give us information about the Food Pantry, its needs and what we can do to help. In addition to a $500.00 donation (being given to Pat by President Joyce), the members have decided to bring items the week of our club meetings and Deb volunteered to help with the NH Food Bank in Manchester.
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Aug 19, 2012 Perfect weather and great publicity contributed to one of our largest crowds ever for our club's biggest fundraiser of the year. Over 30 chili makers, both amateur and professional, brought gallons of chili to the palates of over 1500 people, and three judges, for their votes. Children had fun playing in the bounce house and with the volunteers from White Birch, many people enjoyed the annual car show and Jeff Dearborn's Chain Drive Wallet entertained while the ballots were counted. THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to this project!!!
Posted by Joyce Bosse on Jun 02, 2012 We had a great time and missed those who couldn't attend. This photo was taken during the Saturday night banquet so we were well dressed and mostly well behaved!!
