Malayaka House is a small, independent orphanage in Uganda that houses 36 children, yet reaches out beyond its walls to improve the lives of hundreds more impoverished, orphaned children in Uganda. Malayaka House is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

As Rotarians, we are embedded in International Goodwill as well as our work in our community. It is our club's goal to assist Malayaka House in sustaining the home which has been created for the children. Education is the top priority at Malayaka House along with teaching the children to become a self-sustaining member of the community. Our hats go off to Robert Flemming, his amazing staff and caregivers. A design and bid proposal has been accepted by our Rotary Club to install much needed back-up electric sources. This is needed for the safety of the children.

Ludlow Rotarians are now in the Grant Writing process. The grant will be submitted for approval to our Rotary District July 1, 2013. Our goal is to raise $10,000 locally which will then be matched by Rotary International bringing the total to the $38,000 +/- needed to proceed with this project. We welcome your donations for this worthy project. 100% of your donation will go to the Malayaka House project.

Please make checks payable to: Ludlow Area Rotary Charitible Fund (LARCF), Mail to PO Box 216, Ludlow, Vermont 05149.

A heartfelt "Thank You" from our club and the children of Malayaka House!

Feel free to contact any Rotarian with your questions or -  BWright@wrightconstruction.com

Thank you to everyone for making our Penny Sale a great success!  Another great fundraiser for our club!

A special thank you to all of the generous prizes that were donated from our local businesses.  Without the business community support this event would not be successful!

See you next year - the last Saturday of April for our 58th Annual Penny Sale!

Rotarians and our Community,

Once again Fern is getting ready to take a trip to Entebbe - destination Mayalaka House Orphanage. Fern and her group are soliciting for items with which to fill their luggage. This year the list includes; Used Laptops, Digital Cameras Printers with the proper ink cartridges, Memory sticks, Tablets, etc. Technology for learning is the Theme. It is imperative that all donations are in working order. The luggage space is limited and IT may be difficult to secure. Old Luggage is also needed. If it zips and you will not need it back - think of donating it to the cause

Donations may be arranged with Rotarians Sharon Bixby, (Ludlow Insur.) or Jill Tofferi, 228-8921 (Fletcher Memorial Library)

Ludlow Rotary Club and the Children of Malayaka House THANK YOU in advance!
