Milford Rotary held its two signature events during the fourth week of July  -  the 46th Annual Milford Rotary Swim Meet and the 20th Annual 100 Holes of Golf in One Day Tournament.

Around 645 swimmers representing eighteen teams raced in 86 events at Keyes Pool on July 19th and 20th. As a community service event, the annual swim meet goes far to support youth development and the summer swimming programs.

The following Friday 58 enthusiastic golfers raced around the Amherst Country Club course in pursuit of low scores and completing 100 Holes of Golf before sunset. As our premier fundraiser, 100 Holes 2014 was a great success. The committee will have final numbers in the coming weeks but rumor has it that the event will set a new record for net proceeds and that is a wonderful way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this truly unique golf tournament.

The Milford, New Hampshire and the Danli, Honduras Rotary Clubs are pleased to announce that The Rotary Foundation has approved a Global Grant which, when completed, will improve the health of 425 families – including many children -  by providing them with clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education. This project will serve nine dispersed, remote communities in the rural municipality of Trojes, Honduras, located along the Nicaraguan border, about three hours northeast of Danli. The total cost of the project is $188,000, of which $138,300 was funded by Rotary Clubs, Rotary Districts and The Rotary Foundation. The remaining funds will be provided by a Native Energy carbon credit program.
