District 7230 Food Packaging
PDG Helen Reisler and DG Matt's Ingemanson at the District 7230 Food Packaging Event on Oct 19 where 42 clubs from our district were represented. Helen represented RCNY and helped to package over 50,000 servings of rice and beans, macaroni and cheese, to be delivered to hungry people in our own communities. "It was a meaningful and fun day.....this is Rotary !!

Our Nov 18th speaker ShelterBox Ambassador Louis Turpin sends a thank you and folloup for the reception given himself and Larry Palant to their presentation about Rotary Partner ShelterBox and its ongoing efforts to provide shelter, warmth and dignity to the survivors of disaster around the globe. He encloses a letter from RI President Ron Burton with suggestions and contacts about further support that can be given, especially to the Phillilpines.

Molano argues that the answer lies in its unique geography, and how it affected its economic and political development .

New Orleans Rotary Pays It Forward
The Rotary Club of New Orleans presents a check for $11,000 to Rotary Hurricane Relief for Staten Island, NY on the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. They are paying it forward for the 5 Staten Island Clubs who helped out in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Special Fundraiser Caps Off UN Day
On Nov 2, 2013, after the day of presentations for Rotary at UN Day, The UN Rotaract Club held a special fundraising event for the benefit of Izet, a 6 month old child who is being treated in Bergamo, Italy, at Ospedali Riuniti by Dr, Giancarlo Crupi, one of the training surgeons for Gift of Life International. The event was great fun with over 70 people who came, and donated toward the expenses of his surgeries and care.
