NY Rotary Foundation Grants
At the Regular luncheon meeting on Thursday January 22nd it was with great pleasure that two New York Rotary Foundation grants were presented by Foundation Chair Jim Thompson to our Lebanese Rotarian friend Lina Shehayeb for a Clean Water in Schools Project. An additional presentation was made to a British couple in need here in NYC, the Amoses.

Charitable Donations
Theresa Grant, Chairwoman and Founder of Make A Difference will speak to us on “Common Mistakes Donors Make & How to Avoid Them”. MAD's mission is to support quality educational opportunities for vulnerable children and youth in developing countries. and it’s dream is to help children rise out of poverty and become leaders within their countries.

Alan D. Nemlich Rotary Memorial Scholarship
Andrew Morzello, PDG & President, Rotary District 7230 Foundation, has announced the establishment of a new District scholarship, the Alan D. Nemlich Rotary Memorial Scholarship. The two $1,000 scholarships are intended for graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll in college or a post-high school vocational and/or technical school.

Chris Powell is a co-founder of The Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee, organized in the fall of 1998 to expose, oppose, and litigate against collusion to control the price and supply of gold and related financial instruments. The committee arose from essays by Bill Murphy, a financial commentator on the Internet, and by Chris Powell, a newspaper editor in Connecticut.

Rupen lives in Manhattan and first came to us at a fundraiser held for Gift of Life by the Wall Street Rotary Club. He was interested in further developing his own and the charitable efforts of his firm, PA Consulting Group, an employee-owned management-consulting firm based in London.
