”Love Shouldn’t Hurt”
Rotary Club of New York and Miss New York, Kira Kazantziev, are co-sponsers of “Love Shouldn’t Hurt”, a very special event to raise funds and awareness in support of Safe Horizon. Safe Horizon is the largest victim’s service agency in the U.S and their mission is to provide support, prevent violence and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities. Details about Safe Horizon and joining this event on Aug 20 are inside. We're considering it a special meeting in lieu of our Aug 21 regular meeting.

The Rotary Club of New York, led by RCNY member and Paul Harris Fellow Marina Theodotou, hosted 8 teenagers for lunch who are participating in a friendship exchange that began with a fundamental problem! Can you imagine living in a divided country and not meeting people in another part?

We Are Rotarians
I composed this poem in response to the question, " What is Rotary, Anyhow?" Turns out, it seems to also be very timely when Rotarians ask, " What Are We Doing To End The Conflict in The Middle East and other Places Around The World?"
WE ARE ROTARIANS
We are business, professional and community leaders
Who are ready to serve and be involved
Without using guns, knives, or bombs,
To get the world’s problems solved.
We combat hunger, poverty, disease,
And promote education,
Exchange students and groom leaders
For better global relations.
We address natural disasters
And send our volunteers.
Clubs partner with clubs
Both far and near.
We save hundreds of lives every day
Celebrating fellowship along the way.
We’re a volunteer army working in teams
Giving people hope and activating dreams.

Letter from Rick Martin
To my Fellow Rotary Club of New York Members:
It was my pleasure to hold my first Board Meeting as well as conduct my first Club Meeting as President on Thursday July 17th. I thought that a few points that I addressed to the Board made sense to share with the Membership. full text inside
