William R. Rhodes recently authored the book BANKER TO THE WORLD: Leadership Lessons from the Front Lines of Global Finance. He is president and CEO of William R. Rhodes Global Advisors, LLC and professor-at-large at Brown University. Bill Rhodes is also a retired senior vice chairman and senior international officer of Citigroup and Citibank.

New York Rotary Foundation donates $10,000 to Philippines Disaster Relief
Jim Kushner of the Rotary Club of Inwood came to Rotary to receive a grant of $10,000. He has been on location hands on and will ensure that these funds will directly reach the neediest and poorest and will help building homes after the devastation. Also there was the rest of the team that is involved with the Relief work in the Philippines.

Author & Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar
Artis Henderson will speak about the loss of her husband in Iraq and the rebuilding of her life afterward, including how her time in Dakar, Senegal, as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar was an important part of that journey.
Ms. Henderson is an award-winning journalist and essayist whose work has appeared in The New York Times and Reader’s Digest. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. Her first book, Unremarried Widow, a memoir about her husband's death in Iraq, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2014.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell: One Man's Experience in the Navy
Former Naval Aviator David Greer is also now a playwright. His first play, <.b>Burning Blue, drawn from his own life as a naval aviator, received critical acclaim and is about to be released by Lion's Gate Films in June.

Gift of Life Child at the Central Park Zoo
With the Generosity of the Rotary Club of Newtown CT, Gift of Life Chapter 7230 and GOL International, and Monica and Michael Toll of Newtown as Host Family, Genesis from Belize was given a second chance at life through successful heart surgery at Montefiore Hospital. On Friday, Mar 14 Fredlee Kaplan escorted Genesis, Melanie and the Tolls to the Central Park Zoo for a day of fun and adventure before their departure for Belize.
