Cole is an impressive and hardworking young man who always has a great outlook, respect and maturity. Cole is ranked in the top 15% of his class with a 3.82 GPA. He has challenged himself by taking rigorous courses including Advanced Placement and Honors courses in English, Science, and Math. Cole has also taken advantage of dual enrollment courses and received College Credit and Certifications for Welding during his time in the Babson-Carpenter Career and Technical Education Center.
Cole has been on the Honor Roll all four years he has attended Hayden High School and, among other high achievements, Cole scored a 27 on the ACT. Teachers comment that Cole is a leader, hard worker, respectful, good communicator and industrious. They also state that he pays great attention to detail, has great work ethic, is a team player and is self-directed. Cole is also very punctual and has almost perfect attendance. Upon graduation on May 20, 2012, Cole will attend Colorado State University where he will study Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Paul Scoppa, HHS Construction Trades teacher, stated, “[Cole] is always willing to help anyone in need of assistance”. Mr. Kevin Kleckler, HHS Vocational and Technical Education Teacher, commented that Cole is “an outstanding young man with tremendous work ethic and who has an attention to detail. He will be a great asset to the engineering profession.” | | Posted by Winnie DelliQuadri on Mar 27, 2013 The club's grants committee has awarded spring grants to the following groups: * The After Prom - This is a parent sponsored event to provide a safe, supervised and drug free event for students after their prom dance at the Steamboat Springs High School. $500. * Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurses Association - Funding to support their Aging Well classes in Routt County for seniors. $975 * Routt County Council on Aging - Funding to support their transportation program that takes seniors to the grocery store so that they can grocery shop. $975. The club will have one more grant round - with grants restricted to proposals which benefit seniors - planned for this spring. Applications are available on the club website (see the bar on the right) and are due on April 15th. | | Apr 16, 2013 Steve Hitchcock is Rotarian of the month for April 2013. This past year, Steve has served on the fundraising task force, the grants committee, chaired the dues and fees task force, and served on the district conference committee, where he is taking on the responsibility of coordinating the Friday dinner on the town. The dinner downtown is a new idea for the district conference, and was thought up by Steve as a way to both spread the word about Rotary in Steamboat Springs during the conference while simultaneously having a larger positive impact from the conference on the community. In addition to all of this, Steve is the club's secretary, and in that role, spends countless hours updating clubrunner and doing all of the paperwork required for our club to operate effectively. Thank you Steve for your service to the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs! |
