| Posted by William Daley on Apr 09, 2012 In recognition of Rotary International’s humanitarian efforts in the United States and around the world, the White House of Public Engagement invited Rotary to organize a “Rotary Day at the White House” as part of its White House Community Leaders Briefing Series. The White House and Rotary recognized key serviced projects and individuals that are making a difference in the lives of ordinary Americans. These “Champions of Change” come from across the country and best exemplify the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.” Congratulations to the Rotary Club of Arlington! They have been selected one of the “Champions for Change” from across the country who will be honored at the “Rotary Day at the White House” because of their Webb Elementary School Scholarship Program. Jim Fulgham will represent the Arlington club at this prestigious event on April 20, 2012! Sharron Miles District 5790 |

| Posted by Don Proctor on Feb 28, 2012 When Enrique first asked his mom if he could join his Webb Elementary School classmates at Camp Grady Spruce last December, Norma Leyva was against the idea.
The program, a five-day overnight camp sponsored by the Rotary Club of Arlington, is a long-standing tradition at the school. |

| Posted by William Daley on Feb 27, 2011 I think someone once said “A day in a Rotary Club is like a day on the farm. Every meal’s a banquet! Every dollar donated is a fortune!” I’m not sure who said that, but it certainly fits with a recent project our club participated in this year called the “$100 Challenge”. The challenge was the brainchild of one of our members who wanted to find a unique way to not only give back to Rotary and the community, but do it in a way that gave the greatest impact and involvement of the entire club. The big unveil to our club was on January 13th, and the weeks leading up to the meeting had me contemplating all the possibilities that we were about to unfold. |
