A brave group of loyal Rotarians got up early and headed into Kansas City to cook breakfast at the reStart Homeless Shelter.  Rotarian John Rosendahl lead the charge for the group.  Thanks to Rotarians John Rosendahl, Jim Knoche, Ron Wilds, Emagrace Colley, Pat Meyer, Kenny Harris Petier Van der Drift and Roy Browne for their Service Above Self.

The Blue Springs Rotary Club is an International Service Organization comprised of local community leaders, business men and women from all vocations. Our core values are Service, Fellowship, Diversity, Integrity and Leadership. We recognize and value the worthiness of all useful occupations.

The Club has approximately 80 friendly, active members who meet at 12:00 Noon each Wednesday at the Country Club of Blue Springs in Blue Springs, Missouri.  The Blue Springs Rotary Club has consistantly received the Rotary "Presidential Citation" Award, which is awarded to clubs who meet and exceed the requirements set by the current sitting Rotary International President.  These requirements involve active participation in Rotary's 5 Avenues of Service:  Vocational Service, Club Service, Community Service, International Service and New Generations Service.

The Blue Springs Rotary Club is 1 of 55 Rotary Clubs in Rotary District 6040, which covers all of northern Missouri.  Worldwide, there are over 32,000 clubs in 532 Districts in 200 countrys with approximately 1.2 million members.  All of these clubs are devoted to helping the less fortunate, feeding the hungry, healing the sick and infirm.

Membership is by invitation to any citizen who loves to laugh, have fun and socialize all in the spirit of service to others.

Visitors are always welcome. Email Membership Chairman Katie Woolf (katiewoolf@kansascityymca.org) for more information.

Because of Blue Springs Rotary Club President Jim Bauch leadership and guidance, our club was awarded the coveted "Presidential Citation With Distinction" award.  District Governor Jeff Romine, Kirksville, MO.  presented the award to club representatives at the annual District Conference for Rotary District 6040.  Of the 54 Rotary clubs in District 6040, only 10 clubs acheived this coveted award.

This award is achieved by Rotary clubs who complete requirements set by the Rotary International President.  These requirements include meeting and exceeding components in each of Rotary International's 5 Avenues of Service.  Only strong, healthy  clubs can achieve these requirements.

Congratulations to all the Rotarians of Blue Springs and especially to President Jim Bauch, for his leadership, guidance and patience.

President Jim Bauch has named Rotarian Katie Kinder as the Club Champion for 2010-11.  Katie's tireless work of putting together the weekly e-mails to members, organizing numerious activities for our Rotary club as well as her other volunteer efforts have put Katie at the top of the "Wonderful Person" list.

Katie's hard work was honored at Rotary's District Conference held in Kirksville, MO.  on April 30, 2011.  District Governor Jeff Romine presented Katie with a certificate and pin for her hard work.  A Rotary Club representative accepted the awards on Katie's behalf.

Katie's hard work, enthusiam and sense of humor is an inspiration for everyone in Rotary.

Congratulations Katie Kinder...a true Rotarian!
