Boulder Rotary Awards at District Conference

We are delighted to report that Boulder Rotary received the following awards at District Conference over the April 27-29 weekend:

World Community Service Award for Contributing to World Peace and Understanding: for Scott Nelson's Mbingo Hospital, Cameroon, Otolaryngology Project.

Large-Size Club Membership Growth Award for 5.3% increase in membership - way to go for BRC's New Generations Satellite Club!

Rotary International Changemaker Award to recognize clubs that made an extraordinary impact, as established by RI President Kalyan Banerjee for this Rotary Year.

District Governor's Volunteer in Community Service Award for Non-Rotarians, won by Dr. Charles Steinberg for his AIDS/HIV work here and in Africa and Myanmar. Dr. Steinberg was nominated by Boulder Rotarians.

AND - proud to number Past Club President and Past District Governor Norris Hermsmeyer as one of only 150 Rotarians worldwide to receive the 2011-12 Service Above Self Award from Rotary International! Norris joins a select group of Boulder Rotarians honored with Rotary International's Service Above Self Award: Dick Bedell, Jean Bedell, PEN Darryl Brown, Barbara Fisher, and PDG Jack Rummel.

Young RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards)

Young RYLA is a leadership-training program sponsored by Rotary International that promotes, encourages and rewards outstanding young people.

This all-expense-paid five-day conference brings together a special group of boys and girls from Colorado and Wyoming to share ideas about becoming better leaders is for those who are currently a 7th grader.

The Boulder Rotary Club is pleased to provide information about this summer's Young RYLA camp sessions from July 22-July 27 or July 29-Aug 3 in Larkspur Colorado. Interested in joining Rotary but not sure which club is right for you? Come learn about the Boulder New Generations Rotary Club, a Satellite Pilot Project of the Boulder Rotary Club!

The goal of BNGRC is provide a way for young professionals to become part of the Boulder Rotary Club while making membership less of a financial burden. Our meeting time also caters to those who would have a hard time leaving work in the middle of the day to attend a meeting.

Boulder New Generations Rotary meets every other Tuesday at 7:30pm at the Mapleton YMCA (2850 Mapleton Ave, Boulder).
