September 2011 started out challenging for most of us, post Tropical Storm Irene; however, that did not stop the Cumberland/Lincoln Rotary club from holding its third annual Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding fundraiser. |

Ralph and Carleen Lawrence, co-founders of Lawrence Medical Devices, the maker of the IV Buggy, were our guest speakers at this week's meeting. Carleen told us a very heart-warming account about the back-story in how the Buggy was developed. The story, fortunately, had a happy ending. |

This week the club hosted Anthony "Tony" DeQuattro, President of Operation Stand Down. According to their website, and Mr. DeQuattro's presentation, "Operation Stand Down is a national coalition of concerned Americans who have dedicated themselves to eliminating homelessness among our nation's Veterans". |
