SANTA is COMING!!! Breakfast with SANTA is Saturday December 3 at Clay High School 8am -10am. Tickets now available by calling 419-691-5745. Each ticket costs $3 and includes a pancake breakfast, craft making and puppet show, a special visit with SANTA and a FREE picture with Santa too! This annual festive event is coordinated by the Rotarians of the Oregon/Northwood Rotary Club. Children of all ages and their families enjoy a morning having fun, eating a terrific breakfast, and seeing SANTA. Oregon/Northwood Rotarians distributed a personalized dictionary to each third grader in the Oregon and Northwood schools system for the literacy project. The students really appreciate their own resource book in helping them learn proper spelling, grammar and usage of words. Rotarian Peg Weisenburger coordinated the successful fundraiser for the club (ELDER BEERMAN COUPON BOOK sales) to raise the money to purchase the dictionaries. Rotarian Annelle Ritter coordinated the distribution. The Oregon/Northwood club raised over $300 to support the dictionary service project! Kudos to each of you and a pat on the back for meeting the educational needs of our youngsters! |

The club's LITERACY PROJECT is complete and third grade students in Oregon and Northwood Schools have each received their very own personalized dictionary. Reactions from the children ranged from awe to surprise and even giggles. The children are delighted to be singled out and recognized in the classroom. Thank you for your support and efforts in this fundraising effort to support the LITERACY PROJECT through Dictionaries to Third Graders! |

Presentations have been made to both Mike Zalar, Superintendent, Oregon Schools, and Greg Clark, Superintendent, Northwood Schools for students to attend the Challenger Learning Center. Oregon-Northwood Rotary club made the donations through money raised from the annual golf outing held in early September. Oregon Schools 8th graders and Northwood Schools 5th graders will enjoying the program at Challenger Learning Center. Thank you golfers and donors for your participation. You enabled the students to experience this terrific program through the Challenger Learning Center! |

Clubs from the area are joining together in this endeavor to assist in providing relief for those in Haiti. |
