Not always will a clubs membership readily identify who their district governor is but this year our club is at an advantage as the District Governor for District 5730 is our very own David Norris. David has been a Rotarian since 1983 and hails from Texas. He and Candy have both been very active Rotarians in this District as well as District 5510 in Arizona. They both returned to Amarillo in 2009 thanks to Happy State Bank which took them away in the first place. David's Rotary career includes: club president twice, assistant district governor for 3 years, Rotary Youth Exchange, Group Study Exchange team hosting, Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp, District Diabetic Camp, the Rotary Leadership Institute, participation in two National Immunization Days in India as well as numerous other district and club fund raising and local community projects. When not involved in work or Rotary you might find David out touring on his motorcycle or more likely spoiling grandaughter Berkley. We are very proud and honored that our District is under the leadership of David Norris and that he hails from THE Rotary Club of Amarillo.
