| Posted by Richard Ornberg If you're getting sick and tired of just watching the world go by without your input, or want to do something for the community other than just reacting, complaining, or posting online anonymous replies to somebody else's story, then we have just the thing for you
Take a look at the Rotary Club, especially your local club here in Oconomowoc, WI, and you'll find ways to not only become an intregal part of the community, meet interesting and productive fellow citizens and neighbors, but help contribute -- through participation or support -- to making your community a better place to live.
And that's only part of the story. As part of Rotary International, and helping to support it's international foundation, you'll be able to help children around the world live beyond their early childhood to become useful and productive adults by helping to eradicate Polio once and for all. By becoming part of our local chapter, you're also helping to support and lead international efforts to provide clean and healthy water resources and hygiene improvements to slow the ocurrance of childhood deaths at the current rate of one every 17 seconds.

Above, the main collection crew were easy to spot with their bright yellow vests and blue "Food For Thought" collection totes. INSET: Rotary Parade Volunteer Chairman Darla Armstrong presents both food and over $320.00 in collected cash to Bill Jackson at the Oconomowoc Food Pantry.
