Join me as we begin to let go of the hustle of the outside world and begin to focus inward. Deep into our heart center. For we know, that where it all really starts, is in our hearts.

We pause for a few moments this evening and we remember. First, we remember that we are all very blessed to be here together to share a meal. It is a time for us to engage our minds and open our hearts, to learn from one another, to support one another, and to share ideas.

We remember that we are not here only for our selves; but also, for the future family of mankind, all the children of Mother Earth.

We would hope that in this place, at this time, and with this group of dedicated Rotarians and friends. - That we can make a difference! That we can leave this world a better place than when we found it.

We need to remember to live the four-way test with ever more zeal and enthusiasm! Remember that it takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow. And that all people, all people smile in the same language.

Finally, remember the wisdom of Author William Penn in writing about the inevitable march of Father Time ...

We pass through this world but once. Therefore, whatever good that we may do or kindness that we may show to any other creature. Let us do it now! Let us not differ it or neglect it, let us do it now for we shall not pass this way again.

Every now and then…actually, way more often than just now and then… Niles Rotarians do something REALLY special…and you look at what we did and go…Hey, look at what WE just did! It’s what we do…

Think back to events like the Area 3 Rotary 100th Anniversary celebration …and the Majestic Evening of Hope /wheelchairs for Serbia gala with Vlade Divac and Peja Stojakovich…and our Niles Rotary 75th Anniversary Celebration…and our 18 years worth of Reverse Raffle/Auctions…

Think back to service projects like the Central Park and Niles Community Park fishing docks…and the Graham Elementary School Improvement Project…and Feed the Hungry and Pizza With Santa…

And completed International Projects in Chile, Guatemala, India and soon to be projects in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Kenya and India and Guatemala yet again…

Now…look back at March 2014…welcoming RI President elect Gary Huang AND RI President Ron Burton in spectacular fashion!! Look what WE did!!

All that said…here is what we are about to do next... April 12 brings our 19th Annual Reverse Raffle and Auction fundraiser at Sunol Golf Club…yet another opportunity for Niles Rotarians to Get ‘er Done the way we do…welcoming back old friends and new acquaintances that surely will become fastfriends of Niles Rotary.
