The Tri-Club Auction is Friday May 9th and the proceeds will help with the Fox Theatre renovation.  So gather your friends and co-workers and get your tickets purchased.  The more that attend, the more successful the event will be.  Tickets need to be purchased by April 25th or the price will go up.  Early registration helps the folks who prepare your bidding packet.  We are known for having one of the most organized auctions and having pre-prepared bidding packets waiting on your table when you arrive is one of the reasons!!!  Reservation Form can be downloaded from Download Documents on our home page.

Centralia Rotary “Catch the Buzz” Spelling Bee, to benefit

Lewis County Special Olympics

Date:               Friday, February 22nd at 5:30 p.m.

Where:           Corbet Theater, Centralia College

Centralia Rotary is looking for local businesses, organizations, and community members to participate in its 6th annual “Catch the Buzz” Spelling Bee.  The event, which includes a silent auction and dessert auction, is set for 5:30 p.m. Friday, February 22nd, at Corbett Theater, Centralia College.

Rotarians are starting to line up teams and sponsors to compete. Participation in the adult spelling bee competition requires a tax-deductible entry fee of $350.00 per four-member team. This year’s winning team will receive  Four Night Stay at Oceancrest Resort, generously donated by Mixx 96 FM.  Best Team Spirit and Best Team Costume prizes have been donated by Good Health Nutrition.

Businesses, organizations, and community members willing to sponsor a team but lacking a group of spellers can underwrite a group of spellers looking for a sponsor.

Those who don’t want to spell or fund a team will have opportunities to support Centralia College by attending the Spelling Bee as a spectator for $10.00 which includes appetizers or donating to the silent auction.  No host beer and wine available by Heymann Winery.

“Catch the Buzz” Spelling Bee is a fundraiser for Lewis County Special Olympics. Each year the President of Centralia Rotary chooses a President’s Project. President Barbara Greatwood has chosen Lewis County Special Olympics  so that all youth participants have uniforms and needed sports equipment.

Information and entry forms are available from Centralia Rotary. Interested persons should call Julie Shaffley at 736-3830, or Barbara Greatwood, 736-8200.

ImageCongratulations Centralia Rotarians for raising $2,223.36 in the Red Kettle for the Rotary Club Bell Ringing Day!!  What a great way to support The Salvation Army.  All funds stay here to help the needy in our community.  Our club wins the top spot for the third year in a row.  Followed by the Chehalis Rotary Club who raised $1,119.19 and the Twin Cities Rotary Club with $680.25.   A special "Thank You" to all who stood out in the cold for this effort.  God bless you!!

The spelling bee held on February 3, 2012 was a great success!!  10 teams and difficult spelling words made for an evening of fun and frustration.  Once again, it was a battle to the end.  Just when you thought the College Foundation was unstoppable, the Nerds(ringers) from Chehalis Rotary took the prize.  All of the teams did a great job and the spelling is improving each and every year!
