De voetballers Selassie Zandveld en Sorencio Juliaans gaan in juli naar Nederland voor onder meer een voetbalkamp en clinics bij de Nederlandse landskampioen Ajax. Zondag werden beide spelers gekozen uit een selectie van 22 voetbaltalenten in de U-15 categorie.

Rotary Club Paramaribo Residence uit Suriname heeft de Club of the Year 2010-2011 award van het Caribische District ontvangen. Op de onlangs gehouden Rotary District Conference in Barbados werd deze prijs aan de club uitgereikt door District Governor Tony Watkins. Deze Rotary Club is als beste club uitverkozen uit de 70 Rotary Clubs in het Caribische District. |
