| Posted by Nate Naismith Dine Around continues to be one a favorite activity among club members. Nancy Elliott, Mark's wife, offered her thoughts after beeing part of the Dine Around group this year.... "In Rotaryspeak, "Dine Around" means getting to know other Rotarians in an informal setting. In fact, you can enjoy an entire evening of conversation and the Rotary bell doesn't ring once. Four couples meet and share a meal which means it is pot luck, planned out, and delicious. The conversation swirls around funny things that have happened on our way to achieving whatever age we are now. Here are a few things I found out: Tom Iovanne once had a job where he wrangled 17 tigers, a few lions, and one leopard. Makes the Washington Center job a breeze. Jack Belmont used to drive big rigs and now he owns the company; once he discovered a naked woman in a bath tub on his way home from California. Mark Elliott also wrangled lions at the zoo where he attended Veterinary College plus he castrated camels in Ethiopia. While he was in college, Jim Haley thought it would be cool to be a Resident Advisor for the rest of his life but banking got in the way. Thanks to Jack Belmont, the "Dine Around" idea has become a successful venture where Rotarians and their spouses have a chance to learn more about more people. Try it, you might like it."
