The Robert Young Memorial Headstone

Bob Young headstone

Erected at Holy Redeemer Cemetery on Clinton Avenue in South Plainfield, this stone commemorates the life of Bob Young, a member of the Club who died 12/17/2012. We acknowledge and thank the generosity of Bob's friends who made this headstone possible. Excess funds will be used for a music lesson scholarship for deserving Plainfield student musicians. Interact in Action

Image

North Plainfield High School's Interact Club conducted a food drive (and a blood drive - see story below) that generated over 350 items for the North Plainfield Food Bank.

This is a very active club, filled with caring students who work hard to serve their community.

Congratulations, Interact!!

Rotary Club Members and

Interact Club work our first

Rutgers Game

Pictured below are some of the fifteen North Plainfield Interact Club members who worked one of the two concession stands at Rutgers men's 11/20 basketball game. This was our first game under the new concessions management by Sodexo. There were a few little glitches (not by us) but we came through with flying colors. Our Interact kids were terrific!

Next game is December 6 - see schedule below - if you'd like to help out, drop us an email - RotaryPNP@verizon.net.

Collecting Food

The Interact Club is hosting the Backpacks for Children Program at NPHS.  This program collects food to put into backpacks that are given to children who do not have meals over the weekend. Students and teachers are asked to donate simple items such as mac’n’cheese or small cereal boxes.  Boxes for donations are in every high school homeroom, and each homeroom teacher has a complete list of items suitable for the project.

The Plainfield Music Store
was founded in 1951 by Irving Rydberg. Over the years, Mr. Rydberg assembled a vast resource and archive of sheet music from many publishers which became a favorite source for Plainfield and regional musical connoisseurs.
