 Ract-2c-gd

The Meredith K. Olson Award was created in 2003 in honor of our Past District Rotaract Representative, Rotaract Governor Meredith Olson.

Three lucky candidates will recieve $400

which can be applied to assist with tuition at an accredited institution of higher education, or to offset the cost of Rotary/Rotaract sponsored events. Meredith Olson worked with a passionate spirit to set the foundation of our Rotaract District, and she strongly believed in the ideals of Rotaract. A qualified candidate for this award will hold these ideals equally as high and demonstrate it through their commitment to the club and service.

To apply, click here.

Board Members of District 5280 Rotaract

Posted by Jonathan Keisner on Jul 01, 2011

Welcome to the 2011-2012 Rotaract year! We arevery proud and excited to be your District 5280 Rotaract Board. As many of youmay know last year we transitioned from Rotaract being a part of Youth Servicesto being a part of the official Rotary International Fifth Avenue of service,New Generations. Going forward, this means that there is a greater emphasis onthe Rotaract program and what it does, positively change our communities athome and abroad. With the focus squarely on us it is our time to do what PastDistrict 5280 Governor Doug Baker said, go bigger, do better, and be bolder. Itis our plan to do all three this year. With Governor Brad Robinson at the helmwe have the utmost confidence that this will be the case.

Collaboration will be a major theme this year. Not that we don’t have our own ideas or our own projects to work on, we justfeel that it is time to go bigger and do better and include all of our Rotary5280 brethren in our efforts. We, as Rotaractors, are The Future of Rotary. We must not forget though thatInteractors are the future of Rotaract. We are all in this together, trying tomake our world a better place and what better way than to include the wholefamily. To keep this organization going forward we need everyone!

We, as your district board, pack a small butmighty punch and hope to do big things. We are passionate about the Rotaractprogram and want to take our talents to the next level. We truly believe ineach other and will work together 100% to provide an outstanding program for notonly Rotaract but Rotary and even Interact to participate in. Behind the sceneseach of us are working our hardest night and day to prepare this program. Markyour calendar for many exciting events including an international project inPuerto Rico, a massive joint project with Interact and the Los Angeles FoodBank and plenty of social and networking opportunities.

We hope each one of you can join us for thefun. Let’s do our best to attend as many events as we can. You don’t have to bea club officer to attend district events, anyone in Rotaract or anyoneinterested in becoming a part of Rotaract can and should attend. The more newfaces the better! So let’s have an amazing year. With 100% effort on everyone’spart we can do it; we can make it the best year Rotaract has ever had! We hopeyou have the same good feeling that we do. Let’s do it! It’s time.

Yours in Service,
The Board Members of District 5280 Rotaract
