About

As a writer, national blogger and radio show co-host, I love to Dish about what's happening now, in Kansas City and all over the country!
Biography
Overland Park, Kan.-based freelance writer and editor Kimberly Winter Stern writes about healthcare, travel, food, lifestyle and design. An adventurer and feline fanatic, she revels in the fast-paced lifestyle of someone in search of words to be written and stories to be told. Though the bipolar atmospheric changes in Kansas are sometimes challenging, Stern admits there is no place like the Heartland as a home base for her love of travel and food.

Also known as the gregarious and cuisine-informed Kim Dishes to listeners tuning in weekly for her on-the-road segments on “LIVE! From Jasper’s Kitchen,” a popular long-running food show in Kansas City for which she is co-host with KC celebrity Chef Jasper Mirabile, Stern constantly scours the country for culinary and destination jewels, never leaving home without her appetite or her vivid imagination. Prolific in eating, writing and discovering, this foodie satisfies an innate desire to sample the world’s gastronomic rainbow by meeting food artisan trendsetters, gaining insight into the culinary points-of-view of everyone from cheese makers and chocolatiers to brew masters and baristas who set their city’s locavore pace to the farmers and growers who are passionate producers.

Stern is a sought-after writer with work appearing in diverse national, regional and local magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, 913/KC Star, KANSAS! Magazine, KANSAS Outdoors, KC Magazine, national travel guides, KC Homes & Gardens, Generation Boom, Shawnee Magazine, KC Home Design, Unity, KC Business and Midwest CEO. She is the former managing editor of 435 South magazine where she helped Johnson County's definitive lifestyle publication earn the coveted title of "Best Magazine in Kansas City" in 2011. Stern is a national writer for Dean & DeLuca’s Gourmet Food Blog where she cooks, styles, shoots and writes about food … and loves to lick the bowl clean. The face behind the name of Kim Dishes, a foodie’s dream blog, Stern wrote a popular weekly food column called Dining Bytes for KC Magazine.

Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 9th has been changed to 730am. We meet at the Falcon Valley clubhouse in Lenexa. A complementary continental breakfast will be served.

Our guest speaker will be well known sports talk radio personality Kevin Kietzman. Kevin is the host of "Between the Lines" on Sports Radio 810 WHB.

Simply put, “Between the Lines” is the show that reshaped sports radio in Kansas City. Mired in a sports radio abyss in the late 90s, listeners soaked up BTL like a dry sponge. Host Kevin Kietzman has never been afraid to ask the tough question to any guest, or voice his opinion to any listener. Between The Lines is just that - candid, honest and open.

Not only does Kevin, along with co-host Danny Clinkscale and producer Todd Leabo, break the latest in sports news, they typically talk to the newsmaker directly. And when it comes to interviewing, Kevin’s in-depth and insightful questions leave no stone unturned, giving listeners the whole picture. When you want to know the who, when, where and why of the local sports scene, keep it “Between the Lines”. From 2 to 6 pm weekdays, on Sports Radio 810 WHB

Our meetings times have been changed to EVERY Tuesday at 530pm

Since our club inception, we have been the only club in our District that meets in the morning one week and the evening the next.  We have decided to change to a permanent time in order to increase attendance and reduce confusion on our meeting times.
