"To the scientist Nature is a storehouse of facts, laws, processes; to the artist she is a storehouse of pictures; to the poet she is a storehouse of images, fancies, a source of inspiration; to the moralist she is a storehouse of precepts and parables; to all she may be a source of knowledge and joy."

John Burroughs (1837-1921) - "The Art of Seeing Things," Leaf and Tendril (1908)

Many thanks to the Rotarians and host families that made it possible for Angela and Line to be with is this year.  Hearing the impact that this year has had on them reminds us how important it is to support this program.  Our local mission to support youth is a worthy one.

Barbara Caldwell will be our speaker this week.  River Bend Nature Center is one of our communities jewels; Barbara will provide us an update from the unique perspective as a director about to leave her position.  Barbara and Jack are moving to Deforest WI, near Madison.

The committee and project sign up sheets will be out again this week.  Save our incoming President a phone call by signing up for some aspect of service within the club.

Peace Through Service,

Kymn

Congratulations to these students, Ayan Adan, Maria Utpadel, Ubah Ahmed, Yusuf Dakane, Cady Walker

who wrote moving and inspiring essays about their personal heros.

The contest asked students to write about their heros, and how those heros demonstrate living the 4 Way Test.

The students were our guests at the April 17 meeting and each read their award winning essay to the club.

Bliss Ford representatives presented a check for $500.00 to the Rotary Club to be forwarded to support the Basic Blessings Program.

Club members test drove the new Ford Fusion in a promotion offered at Bliss Ford, earning dollars for every test drive.

Many thanks to Bliss Ford, and Rotarians who participated in this effort.
