For the President to update members on recent news items.

Welcome to our Rotary Club!

Like many other clubs in Australia the Rotary Club of South West Rocks was struggling with a declining membership but we seem to have stopped that trend during a most successful 2011-12. We welcomed four new younger and enthusiastic members into our Club and are confident there will be more.  Highlights for the year included the completion of the $30,000 project to preserve an endangered ecological community of Swamp Sclerophyll forest for which the Club was awarded District 9650's "Preserve Planet Earth Award". This was the third time our Club had won this award in recent years. We put our cooking talents to good use by providing the BBQ's for events such as the State Surf Life Saving Championships and the Trial Bay Triathlon. Our ladies, in particular, organised several fun-packed fundraising events for worthy causes such as Rotary Mental Health Research and the international Rotary campaign to wipe out the crippling polio disease.Support for our youth programs has also been a major focus. You can find details of all these on our website. It was part of the Club's Vision for Public Relations to set up a website to attract new members and retain our valued present ones. This is the result. Hopefully, it will appeal to you and encourage you to explore its pages and find out more about our many activities. Over 20 local community groups and the Rotary Foundation will be supported with donations by Changeover Night. President Diana and her team are to be congratulated.
