Our speaker October 16 was Daniel Ortiz, author and speaker on Hispanic entrepreneurism. He spoke about the differences between "American" and "Latino" cultures.
Our speaker 10/9 was Gretchen Reynolds, body and fitness columnist for The New York Times. Her column, PhysEd, runs weekly online in the Well blog and usually in the print Science section. Her standing ovation at the end may have been well-deserved but the audience was standing anyway after she told us that a recent study shows a 22-minute drop in life expectancy for each hour of sitting!
